The procedures for making FAI requests are clear and relatively simple procedures. Requests may be submitted by any means of communication (orally, in writing, in electronic format). Summary

The legislations of Kosovo, Montenegro and North Macedonia envisage the possibility for the request to be made orally, in writing, or in electronic format. Conversely, the legislation of Albania and BiH explicitly stipulate that the request can be made only in writing (email is accepted in Albania), rendering it partially in line with the standard.
