Indicator 7. Existence of a procedure that empowers the competent authority to verify the fidelity of the reported information

Without the power of the competent authority to verify the fidelity of the reported information, it may not serve its purpose. The rules on this procedure should therefore be clearly set.

Summary

State commissions or anti-corruption agencies are empowered adequately for such actions in Montenegro, Kosovo and North Macedonia, while in BiH (on the state and entity levels) legislation only partially stands in line with the standards. The Republic of Srpska falls significantly behind on this issue, because of the absence of the relevant provisions.
