Additional engagement per se does not have to represent conflict of interest, if performed in a eligible manner. Clear regulations on concurrent egagements must contain precise conditions public official has to fulfill in order to maintain his impartiality, professionalism and independence while being additionaly engaged.
Summary
On this matter, the countries that are analyzed also show variations in relevant legislation. While some national regulations foresee the necessary rules in a very precise manner, in other no rules on the matter can be found neither in primary or secondary legislation.
