Indicator 3. Precise determination by law of the value of acceptable, casual gifts. The distinction for the value of gifts from one person and the general values of all gifts is required
Rules on receiving gifts have to be considered within the context of social tradition since it can be socially acceptable to receive gifts in particular situation. However, in oder to prevent misuse of this concept, precise rules are required. Infrequent gifts of small value, as a part of courtesy or protocol, will not affect neither the integrity of the public official, nor the perception of him.
Summary
All the countries analyzed possess regulation on the value of the casual gifts. It is clear that this matter is regulated with significant differences when the scope of value for acceptable gifts in question - from the most restrictive rules in certain countries to the more liberal one in others.
